Vocal Trash - Headliner
Frank Eng & Friends |
Headlining PerformerVOCAL TRASH (Sound Bite) Video Clips #1, #2, #3, #4, #5 Headlining First Night Tri-Cities again this year, is the band Vocal Trash from Arlington, Texas. Vocal Trash is best described as a cross between “Stomp,” the popular drum act where its members play everything from trash cans to kitchen sinks and an accapella group. Throw in some horns, acoustic guitars and a touch of comedy and you have Vocal Trash, a hot and exciting act filled with fun for the whole family. Designed to combine tight harmonies with the grit of “street instruments,” Vocal Trash delivers a unique blend of Oldies, Rock and Roll and contemporary hits – with the band’s added touch. It is a sound and act not soon to be forgotten by spectators young and old. GOTHART SISTERS The Gothart Sisters are three multi talented Violinists and Irish Step dancers who perform around the Seattle area at varied events. They have a large repertoire of classical duos and trios, fiddle songs, Norwegian Melodies, and plenty of holiday music that makes it easy for you to find a program you like. Check out their website. JERRY HARRISHypnotist Jerry returns for h is second year at First Night. Jerry is one of the most talented and sought-after hypnotists in the country today. His dynamic personality combined with a mesmerizing voice will quickly and easily induce an altered state of consciousness. Jerry’s professional training and many year’s of experience will overcome any fears and misconceptions about hypnosis. Jerry’s unmatched ability to be very considerate of his subjects while guiding them through hilarious and creative suggestions has earned him the utmost respect. Jerry hails from Graham, Washington. SKWEEZ THE
WEEZLECeltic music Squeez the Weezle has been a crowd favorite for many years at First Night. The band's current repertoire includes a mix of traditional, modern, and original tunes and songs from Highland and Lowland Scotland, Ireland, Wales, Cape Breton, and the USA.The band has performed as a quartet, trio, and duet throughout Washington, Oregon, and Idaho at festivals, Highland games, concerts, coffeehouses, wineries, book stores, universities, weddings, benefits, and private parties. Whatever the line-up, a good time will be had by all! Skweez The Weezle is based in the Tri-Cities area of southeastern Washington (where sagebrush is king).
BROADWAY BABES
A’capella vocalists The Broadway
Babes return for their second year at First Night Tri-Cities. The Babes
are an a’capella singing group of girls aged 10-16 and they love to put
on a show! The youngest, Katie (9) belts out a Jackson5 - style song
called “Rockin Robin”. She may be small, but Hannah (11) shows off what
she can do in “Yankee Doodle Dandy”. Hope, the oldest (16), is featured
in “Down to the River to Pray”. Grace (14) sings her heart out in
“Stupid Cupid”. She may not be a real rapper, but Corrin (14) can
definitely keep a beat in “Yeah, The Lonely Goatherd”. Since the groups
first-ever public performance at last year’s event, they have sang at
the River of Fire festival in Columbia Park, the Mardi Gras fundraiser
for the Benton Franklin Humane Society and sang the National Anthem for
the Tri-City Americans, Tri-City Dust Devils and the Kennewick American
Youth Baseball League. Irish
step dancers
Over the past few years, the local branch of the An Daire Academy of Irish Dance (formerly the Comerford School of Irish Dance) has been wowing audiences in the Tri-Cities and surrounding areas with their high energy, traditional Irish step dancing. The dancers also compete regionally and have won many solo and team awards. In November 2004, 16 Tri-Cities dancers competed in the US Western Region Oireachtas 2004 (Irish Dance Championship). Their Dance Drama placed first, qualifying them for the North American Championship in July 2005. The group won 1st place at the North American Championships. Desert Winds Flute Choir|The Desert Winds Flute Choir is a group of ten musicians who play the entire family of flutes – bass, alto, C flute, and piccolo. We play light classical with some pops, jazz, and folk music thrown in. We perform around the Tri-Cities at festivals, farmer’s markets, conferences, art galleries, schools, retirement facilities, weddings, Christmas parties, bookstores, libraries, and parks. Our 2007 CD, “Flutes Unwrapped,” showcases some of our most-requested holiday music. THE DIAMOND RIDGE CLOG TEAM The Diamond Ridge Clog Team returns to the First Night stage this
year. If you haven't seen clogging, or
even if you have, you’re in for a rousing good time. This
energetic group has
entertained the Tri-Cities since 1994 and travels nationally competing and
showcasing their talents. Although proud
of their hard-earned competition wins, the cloggers wholeheartedly
enjoy performing 30-40 shows each year in the Northwest. In addition to
clogging, they expand their dance talents in weekly ballet,
jazz, hip hop, and ballroom classes at their home studio – the Dance

directed by Ben Leggett.SCOTT AND LUISA CAMPBELL Contemporary Christian music The journey of music
began shortly after Scott became a Christian. After accepting and
believing in the Lord, Scott wrote the song “To Pay the Price” (Luisa’s
absolute favorite song -) which was the first of many songs to come to
glorify God and what He has done for us. Music has also been
an important part of Luisa’s life. She pursued a music education
degree in college and after giving her life to the LORD discovered that
singing songs to Him brought her joy and fulfillment. Shortly
after giving her life to Christ, she met Scott. After listening
to and singing “To Pay the Price” Luisa fell in love with the song and
the writer. Their love for music was a perfect combination: he
writes and plays the songs while she sings. Scott works as a computer
technician at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory and his hobbies
include writing songs and recording the music he writes. Luisa
uses her elementary education degree to home school their two
daughters, Melody & Mariah. Her hobbies include reading,
sewing and learning more about being a good wife and motherBroken Broken
started early February of 2007. Broken is the premiere high
energy rock based worship band in the Tri-Cities. They are all part
of worship teams from area church's who just want to be that
bridge for God and worship the Lord through music. Broken has
started working with Gather For Him Ministries which their next
scheduled performance with them is March 7th for "The Gathering"
